The Faroe Islands
The Faroe Islands are a hidden gem in the North Atlantic, a place where nature and culture blend together in a captivating way. I was looking for a unique destination to explore and the initial draw for me was the massive puffin colony that lives on the island of Mykines. There are thousands of these playful birds, with their black and white feathers and colorful beaks, nesting on the cliffs and flying over the sea.
During my trip, I met some amazing Faroese people, as well as other travelers from across Europe visiting the islands. Nights were spent swapping stories and drinking wine with the other guests at the ‘bnb, while days were spent driving across the islands and hiking through the majestic mountains—It felt like I walked into Narnia. At this point I’d rather show than tell, so enjoy! Photos were shot on my S20 and my FujiFilm X-T30.
The architecture continued to capture my attention as I drove across the different islands. This was a church in a small town that seemed to effortlessly compliment the landscape around it.
Nothing but the sounds of seabirds and waves crashing against the rocks down below.
These islands were truly a surreal place—leaving me ending each day, wanting to explore just a bit more.
